Two former Swisscom office buildings in central Basel no longer matched current office demand. The owner wanted to know whether they could become housing, with Swisscom's technical equipment staying in the basements.

The buildings were converted and kept their existing structure. They now hold 105 compact flats with up to 3.5 rooms, along with one commercial unit. The conversion meets the Minergie standard. Solar panels cover parts of the roof and facade.

We supported the owner during the conversion phase, coordinating the planners and specialists and monitoring the agreed milestones.

The first tenants moved in from September 2025. Bollwerk added 105 small homes to central Basel within the existing buildings.
